Perrin "BIG MAF" Intake system for 2002-07 Subaru WRX/STi  This part was designed specifically for customers with heavily modified WRX engines and STi owners with boost pressure higher than stock. In both cases the MAF sensor limit can be reached, potentially throwing a CEL (Check Engine Light), and preventing further tuning beyond that value. An otherwise stock 2004 STi already pegs the output value of this sensor with a minor increase in boost pressure. Imagine what happens when you add a larger turbo to your vehicle! WRX owners utilizing a VF22 or larger turbo and achieving more than 290 wheel HP, the same problem occurs. What Perrin's system does is increase the diameter of the adaptor where the MAF attaches. By allowing additional air to go around the sensor the CEL can be prevented and additional resolution is added to both fuel and load columns on custom mapped ECU's. More air is ingested around the sensor enabling higher levels of horsepower and better tunability. (Customer ECU mapping or a properly tuned standalone ECU is required for use with this intake system. Use on a stock ECU car will cause severe engine damage! Perrin's injector modification package for the 2004 STi part number PSP-INJ-200 and PSP-INJ-205 are a highly recommended in addition to this intake to maintain proper A/F ratio on a 04 STi.) System Includes: 1) High Flow Dual Stage Filter 2) Silicone Intake Tube (Red, Blue, or Black) 3) Large MAF Adapter in Polished Aluminum 4) Mounting Hardware and Instructions Disclaimer: Customer ECU mapping or a properly tuned standalone ECU is required for use with this intake system.
