Stoptech Stage 1 Brake Upgrade Kit  Includes: StopTech stainless steel brake lines for front and rear, 3 bottles of Motul 600 brake fluid, Axxis Ultimate pads for front and rear. Fits stock calipers only. 2001-2002: The 2001-2002 WRX models primarily used a combination of D721 front pads and D770 rear pads. The design changed between December of 2002 and January of 2003.2003: For 2003, Subaru decided on a new brake design for both the front and rear, which consisted of a D929 front pad and D1004 rear pad. The problem lies in this:1. Some early 2003 cars got the older style D721 and D770 setup of the 2002 model year2. Some cars got the older D721 front pads and the new-style D1004 rear pads3. Some vehicles got the new D929 front pads with the older D770 rear pads4. Many made it out of the factory with the new setup of D929s up front and D1004s in the rear. This randomization of configurations makes 2003 cars the most exciting to shop for brake pads for. 2004: For those of you lucky enough to own a 2004 or later WRX, you are off the hook -- since all of these cars got the D929 and D1004 late-model combination. As you can see, these changes make it excessively difficult to purchase pads for your Subaru and it is nearly impossible to guess which ones you have. Please examine what is on the vehicle (your dealership can usually also tell you what is installed) prior to purchasing one of these upgrade packages).
